Weekend Breakfast at Paesano
It’s the weekend and an excuse for a treat so we headed out to try breakfast at the new Paesano in Shawlands to see if Paesano isn’t just about the pizza. It was our first visit to the Southside restaurant but we’ve previously written about the city centre and west end locations.
The breakfast at Paesano runs every Saturday and Sunday from 9am to 11am and there is no pizza on the menu.
Menu
It’s always been quiet anytime we passed at the breakfast sitting, yet they have actually reduced the prices recently so you can now get any focaccione with a tea or coffee for £8.90. Note that a 10% service charge is automatically added to the bill but that still brings it to under a tenner per person.
What we ate and drank
Inside was surprisingly still quiet (I guess no one got the memo that they’d reduced their prices?) so we joined only a couple of other tables who seemed to be happily munching away. Compare this to the evening when there is always a queue whenever we pass.
A couple of coffees were ordered, a flat white and one black coffee supplied by Kimbo – keeping that Naples connection.
We both picked foccacioni. A Salmone e Avocado for me which consisted of Scottish smoked salmon, smashed avocado, scrambled egg, hollandaise & rocket.
A good sized focaccia-style sandwich filled with fresh ingredients. Delicate smoked salmon with scrambled egg on top.
While Mark had the Tartufo e Funghi with Smoked pancetta, wild mushrooms, scrambled egg and truffle aioli.
Lots of flavour here though maybe a little too much truffle oil but it still was demolished.
Verdict
