Southside brunch spot Dropshot announces closure
Sad news from the Southside as Glasgow brunch spot, Dropshot has announced it will be closing next month.

Dropshot, located inside Newlands Lawn Tennis Club in Glasgow’s Southside, will serve its final customers on 15th March.
From Dropshot
“After a lot of thought, I’ve made the difficult decision to close Dropshot. This hasn’t been an easv choice, but running a small business has been more challenging than I ever expected. Like many small food businesses we’ve had to navigate rising costs across the board, from ingredients to staffing, alongside the increasing pressure of VAT and tax obligations. Managing those financial demands. often without the resources that larger businesses have, has added a laver of complexity that can be incredibly tough to sustain.
At this stage of life, I also need to simplify things, to step back and focus on mv wee familv. I started this business when my little one was 1 vears old and now he’s going to school this year, I’ve worked almost every weekend missing lots of important “firsts” and it’s just not worth it. Sorry.
Our last day of trading will be 15th March, and I really hope to see as many of you as possible over the next month so we can properly say goodbye
I’m so incredibly grateful to everyone who supported the café along the way. Your visits, conversations, lovalty and encouragement have meant more to me than you’ll ever know. What we built together was really special, and I’I always be thankful for that.
I also want to say a huge thank you to my wonderful family for the support and patience and of course my team, past and present, who gave their time, energy and heart to Dropshot. I couldn’t have done this without you, and l’m so proud of what we created together.
While this chapter is comina to a close, I’l still be running a much smaller café offering, open exclusively to NLTC members and NLTC social members. Scaling things back feels like the right next step – something more manageable that will allow me to continue doind what I love, while also giving me the time and space to be more present with my wee family.
On a more positive note.. while Dropshot is closing, this account won’t be going anywhere. I’Il be using it to share updates about pop-ups and supper clubs that I’m really excited to bring to you in the future.
Thank you, truly, for being part of this journey”
