2-4-1 Burgers at NYC Bar & Grill
Its a horrible day and there’s 2-4-1 burgers on offer, well there’s only one thing for it. Carbs for lunch! NYC Bar & Grill on Hope Street has been here for a while and are generally known for their chicken wings. Both myself and The Colonel agree that chicken wings are a waste of energy to eat, so burgers it is.

We are the second table in for lunch, so hopefully we won’t be too long to get food and get The Colonel back to work in time. We order our food and drinks and wait…and wait and wait some more. After what seems like forever the food does appear.
For The Colonel, today’s special Butterburger – cheddar stuffed beef burger with double bacon and topped with garlic butter. We both liked the sound of this, but only one can order fo the sake of a review, so I was nice and let The Colonel have it. A side order of small fries accompanied.
👍 from The Colonel. A hefty beast of a burger filled with cheese. This will be why we waited. A moist burger without the need for salad or burger sauce.
Next up the Manhattan burger for myself. Beef burger with cheese, bacon, beer battered onion rings and bbq sauce.
I’m not a huge onion ring fan…but chunky onion rings here with excellent batter. Not greasy at all. Another chonky unit of a burger. A bit too thick for me, so a wee bit of knife action to make them into smaller patties for ease of eating. A filling burger with a bun which held up to the size of the meat.
A side of small cheesy fries. Good amount and meltage of cheese. With the size of the burgers here you would probably do well ordering one side of fries.
Verdict
👍 A competent burger. Not the best around but for some bar scran it works.
