El Perro Negro fly South with Birds Shawlands
Birds Shawlands is the latest venture from the team behind El Perro Negro. Located within Phillies of Shawlands, Birds is doing for chicken what El Perro Negro did for the Glasgow burger scene.
We love the vibe in Phillies, so we’re looking forward to having some fried chicken alongside a cheeky beer.

What we ate
Buffalo Chicken £11.50. Southern Fried chicken thigh, shredded iceberg, house pickles, buffalo sauce and ranch sauce.
Juicy and tender with a suitably sauce and a soft and sweet roll.
Regular chicken tenders £11. Gorgeous crisp outside and moist inside, so good we had to order another portion to take home for the cats!
Regular chicken wings £11
Crisp and moist again, we think these would benefit from being covered in the buffalo sauce so we’ll need to order that next time.
Lattice fries with Old Bay Seasoning £6 Crispy fries, perfectly cooked and not greasy at all. Elevated with the Old Bay Seasoning.
Mac & Cheese £5. Well you know us and mac & cheese?! The pasta was cooked well and held it’s shape however…the sauce needs more cheese, garlic maybe to give it some more oomph.
