Sweetz site on Pollokshaws Road
A planning application has been lodged with Glasgow City Council to turn what was Sweetz dessert shop near to the Allison Arms on Pollokshaws Road to an Italian Restaurant. We’ll let you know as soon as we hear more.
Grain and Grind site to become The Original Queens Deli
Popular coffee shop and sandwich shop Grain and Grind in Strathbungo, just along the road from the site above has planning permission in to sell hot food.
The application states: “Over the last few years this area of Pollokshaws Road and Nithsdale Road has developed into a thriving popular hub with a range of bars, diners, coffee shops and artisan shops, all of which has created a vibrant and dynamic local environment which has become a very popular destination to residents and visitors alike.”
The application states the opening hours will be 8 am to 11 pm from Monday to Thursday and 8 am to midnight on Friday and Saturday.
Food served will include breakfast muffins, toasties such as tuna melt, , cold deli rolls such as sweetcorn fritter and hot deli rolls such as chicken parm.
Kothel to continue expansion of sites in Broomhill
The folks behind Kothel/Olivia’s Gelateria have applied to take over what was once Oscar & Holly’s at 301 Crow Road. They have also applied to enable hot food to be cooked on the premises and for the opening hours to be 8 am to 10 pm Sat to Thurs and 8 am to 11 pm on Fridays. The new venue will be called Fugazi, which means fake/sham/ F*&ked up. An interesting choice!
Argyle Street McDonalds to be refurbished.
