Little Curry House reopens with new Indian tapas menu
Little Curry House in Glasgow’s West End reopens on 30th September for dine in after a refurbishment and revamp of their menu and tonight we were invited along for a preview of the new look and new dishes.
Now focusing on Indian tapas, the restaurant is lead by Jas, son of Kulwant who opened the site.
The new look is modern and bright, a lot different from what it used to be, both inside and outside.

With this being a press night, there was a set menu on offer. Starting with some Gol Gappa which are always fun to eat. These are filled puffed balls which are eaten in one go, like a canapé.

Here we have an array of dishes, clockwise from top left we have: lemon and cashew nut rice, ginger lamb, machi masala (haddock), butter chicken, peshwari naan, pilau rice, king prawn saag and garlic naan.
Mr Foodie was especially impressed with the flavour of the ginger lamb that was full of julienne ginger strips. We also both love curried fish, which is missing from a lot of Indian restaurants. The peshwari naan was a bit tame though – it just looks like a regular naan but you could smell the coconut.
Being a popular Indian restaurant in Glasgow there is a selection of pakora and what’s better than chicken pakora? Well, chicken AND potato pakora of course and we also got to try a portion of this. A lightly (deep) fried mix of both ingredients encased within a single pakora batter.
With the Indian tapas idea this means you can order a few of your favourite dishes without having to choose one. Whether it’s date night or a gathering of friends, this is the kind of relaxed dining that the little curry house was famous for.
There is a wide selection of lamb, chicken, fish and veg dishes on offer, with the classics all represented.
We were impressed with the machi masala and the tenderness of the lamb. Just remember to save space for their home made gulab jamin, or at the very least some mango lassi.

Maybe if you had to pay for your” tapas style” food your review may have been different
I found it to be very overpriced for tiny little “ tapas”
You cannot give a true review without paying for it surely
I would also give a great review if i did not have had to pay £78 for tiny portions for three people
The food was tasty and thats what I was writing about. Have we been back? There’s your answer 😉
