Glasgow’s Rioja restaurant gets a new look and Michelin inspiration
Rioja, on Glasgow’s Finnieston strip, has had a revamp and emerged with a reimagined restaurant space that reflects the stunning colours of Spain. If we can’t get to Spain, Spain can be in Glasgow!
Menu
Here is a look at a sample menu of what you can expect to see at Rioja.
The a la carte menu features a choice of tapas, starters, mains and desserts and will be available for lunch and dinner Monday – Sunday.
Dishes include canapé de pollo pulpo – Crispy Chicken Skin – Fresh Galician Octopus –parsley gel
Croquetas de cocido – Béchamel – Cured Iberian ham – chicken thigh – trio of stocks
Buenelo de bacalao- 20 minute salt cured cod – fried quails egg – salmorejo (cold tomato soup) – mini tempura balls.
And much more. We tried a selection of dishes from Chef Miguel Angel Mayor.
Food
As you can see below, this isn’t your usual tapas bar fare. The dishes here are constructed with care and a flourish. The food here is playful as well as serious, is there anywhere else in Glasgow that serves crab dancing in foam alongside plump oysters ?😍
