New menu offers for Veganuary at Kimchi Cult!
The new menu for Veganuary at Kimchi Cult! means that you can dip into the world of vegan food with a Korean/Glaswegian twist.
It has been far too long since we have visited, so an excuse to try the new menu items and remind ourselves of why Kimchi Cult! has been around for 10 years!
With his chilli socks on, Mark was ready for a kimchi fix.
Veganuary Menu at Kimchi Cult!
What we ate
As you probably know, we give all foods a go, and vegan food is no exception. These are served alongside the vegan friendly dishes already on their menu.
Soy Garlic Tofu Burger Korean Fried Tofu Burger with Soy Garlic Glaze, kimchi cheese mayo, lettuce and pickled cucumber in a vegan burger bun. This was a slab of tofu! it tasted perfectly fine but a bit on the weaker side for Mark so could’ve been spicier or had some extra toppings, like crispy onions for texture or kimchi for spice. We did order a side of kimchi for extra kimchiness to the dishes if needed. You can’t go wrong with ordering extra kimchi!
Kimchi Mushroom Fries – French fries topped with braised bulgogi mushroom, kimchi, spring onions and vegan kimchi mayo. Crispy fries topped with meaty like mushrooms and creamy mayo with crisp kimchi and spring onions. Far too easy to eat.
Doenjang Mushroom and Corn Pizza – Doenjang (Korean Miso,) bulgogi mushroom, corn, sesame and spring onion with vegannaise and chili oil drizzle. Now this pizza is worth the trip for me. Fluffy base with loads of umami tastiness. Another one that was far too easy to munch, I think I’ll have to work my way through the range.
Soy Garlic Glaze Korean Fried Tofu – Korean Fried Tofu with Soy Garlic Glaze, sesame seeds and spring onions. This is on the menu all the time and is basically the burger in smaller pieces. Lots of sweet and savoury glaze coating the crisp tofu.
Verdict
👍
As always with Kimchi Cult! the food was tasty. We were impressed with the veganuary specials, as they ticked our umami boxes and as an introduction to more vegan friendly foods, it was a success. That soy glazed tofu may now be on my order list. I’m not the biggest lover of mushrooms and I would return for the pizza and loaded fries off this menu.
