Spectrum Coffee CIC creating employment opportunities for young people with additional support needs
Spectrum Coffee has launched a new inclusive coffee shop with a clear mission — to create meaningful employment and training opportunities for young people with additional support needs.
Owned by Angie Davis and her husband Chad Davis, Spectrum Coffee CIC was created following the challenges faced by their eldest son, Jack Davis, 18, who has autism and attended a specialist additional support needs school.

As Jack prepared to leave school, the family found there was little structure or realistic support available to help him move into employment, despite his willingness and ability to work. After a difficult transition meeting highlighted the lack of suitable options, Angie and Chad decided to create something that did not exist.
Spectrum Coffee was born from the belief that young people with additional support needs are capable and ready to thrive when given the right environment and support. The café has been designed as a supportive workplace where young people can build confidence, develop skills and gain meaningful employment within their own community.
