Glasgow restaurants awarded Bib Gourmands in 2022 Michelin Guide

February 12, 2022 by Glasgow Foodie Leave a Comment

Bib Gourmand from the 2022 Michelin Guide awarded to two Glasgow restaurants

Ahead of next weeks Michelin Star announcement, saw the release of Bib Gourmands - click here for the list of additions to the Bib Gourmand 2022 Michelin Guide.

Two Glasgow restaurants have been awarded a are a Bib. These are Ka Pao and Celentano's.

Here’s what Michelin have to say

“

Ka Pao, Glasgow
A fun and affordable spot serving tasty, Asian-inspired cooking, Ka Pao is housed in the spacious, industrial-style basement of a former garage, a few streets away from Glasgow’s Botanical Gardens. Dishes like crispy duck leg with green papaya & jaew, or roast pork belly with burnt tomato sambal, choy sum & jasmine rice have immense flavour and depth. Friendly staff are well-versed in speedy, effective service and the buzz of happy diners is all around.

Celentano's, Glasgow
New to the Glasgow dining scene, this simply decorated, homely-style bistro is situated on the ground floor of a boutique hotel close to the Necropolis. There’s an experienced chef at the helm and the modern, Italian-influenced cooking uses the finest Scottish ingredients and comes with plenty of flavour. Staff are keen to recommend dishes: choose from such delights as lasagne fritti with porcini and Cora Linn, or beef ragu pappardelle, with Lanark White.”

What is a bib gourmand?

Named after Bibendum – the MICHELIN Man – the Bib Gourmand distinction highlights restaurants offering good food at competitive prices

Congratulations 🥳
