The Rose Reilly

Scottish Football World Cup Winner Pub

The Rose Reilly pub has not long opened at what was the Hampden Bar. We visited for a few drinks and to find out more about Rose Reilly.

Who is Rose Reilly?

Rose Reilly was a star of the Italian women’s national team that lifted the coveted trophy in 1984, scoring in a 3-1 win over West Germany in the final. Born in Stewarton, Rose played with Reims in France, winning a league title. Then moved to AC Milan. During her time in Italy, Reilly won eight Serie A titles, four Italian Cups and twice won the Golden Boot.

She was asked by the country’s president to play for the national team and in 1984 won the Women’s World Cup with her adopted country.

Inside The Rose Reilly

Just like it’s sister pub, The Bell Jar, The Rose Reilly is a cosy spot. We were one of the first in for the evening, so were able to get some good shots. It soon filled up.
