New foodie spot for Shawlands

Secret garden for Glasgow Southside

Shawlands grows again with a new cafe and wine bar set to be opened.

Fergus Mcvicar, who is behind Chinaski’s and the Berkeley Suite, has been granted a licence for 5 Abbot Street. Locals will remember this as Molly’s Cosy Cafe, famed for its filling lunches, which sadly didn’t reopen after covid. The site is also near to Cafe Strange Brew, so breakfast, lunch and dinner sorted in the one street!

The new neighbourhood wine bar and cafe venue will boast a “secret garden” which we are looking forward to as there are never enough places to catch the sun when it appears in Glasgow!

Fergus Mcvicar says “We want to bring a chinaskis type vibe , but with a completely different design and style”

Best of luck!
