Sunday lunch with the dog usually means hopeful eyes watching every forkful. Now anderson’s pub + institute on King Street is giving four-legged diners a roast of their own.
Launching on Sunday 22 November, The Good Dog Roast costs £8 and has been created in partnership with Barklove, Glasgow’s festival for dogs, owners and dog lovers.

So, what’s on the menu? Slow-roasted beef, sweet potato mash, roasted carrots and fresh greens, finished with dog biscuits.

Head Chef Inesa, whose experience includes Michelin-starred Angler, has created the dish especially for dogs, leaving out the seasoning and gravy served with the human version.
To celebrate the launch, Barklove will take over the pub from noon until 3pm on Sunday 22 November, with owners invited to settle in for Sunday lunch alongside their dogs. There will also be dog-friendly acoustic music to accompany the afternoon.
The humans are well catered for too, with anderson’s Sunday menu featuring a Sirloin Roast and Lorne Wellington.
Can’t make the launch? The Good Dog Roast will be available every Sunday from 22 November until the end of 2026, giving you a few opportunities to book in a Sunday outing with your favourite dining companion.
