Bombay Blues Glasgow lunch buffet review
Our Bombay Blues Glasgow lunch buffet review comes down to a frustrating combination: a good range of starters, but dry, tasteless meat and nondescript curry sauces. We paid £37 for two, including soft drinks, and left disappointed.

A lunch buffet should be a chance to try a few different dishes and find something worth going back for. There was some choice here, but the main courses did little to tempt us.
What was available at the Bombay Blues lunch buffet?
The starter selection was one of the more encouraging parts of our visit. There was a good range to choose from, which gave the meal a promising start.

After a promising range of starters it was on to the mains. There was one lamb option, amongst the curries, with the rest chicken. If you like chicken, that might sound ideal, but we would have liked more variety across the meat dishes, and maybe some veg curries

There were two types of rice available and no chips during our visit. If you know Glasgow, you know carbs are a thing, so nae chips?

Dry meat and forgettable curry sauces
The biggest letdown was the meat. We found it dry and tasteless, making the curries much less enjoyable than we had hoped. Tender meat and a well-flavoured sauce are what we look for in a good curry. Here, the texture was disappointing, and the sauces did little to improve things. We both gave up after the one plate.

Want to know how disappointed we were? We didn’t even attempt dessert! A choice of gulab jamun, carrot pudding and rice pudding.

Was Bombay Blues good value for lunch?
Our total bill was £37 for two people, including a soft drink. That works out at £18.50 per person when splitting the complete bill equally.
Whether an Indian lunch buffet offers good value depends on how much you enjoy eating it. For us, the dry meat and forgettable sauces made this a disappointing way to spend £37. We would have been happier with a smaller selection of curries if the meat had been tender and the sauces had more flavour.
Our verdict on Bombay Blues Glasgow
There were positives to the selection: a good range of starters and two types of rice. However, the meat curries leaned heavily on chicken, with only one lamb option, and the dishes we tried didn’t deliver on flavour. Service was friendly and the restaurant was clean.
For anyone considering a Glasgow city centre Indian lunch buffet, our experience at Bombay Blues was disappointing, sad to say after previous good visits.
