Anderson’s Glasgow: New Pub and Cultural Space Opening This Summer
A new Glasgow pub is opening this summer, and it sounds like one to keep an eye on.
Anderson’s will open in the city on 10th July 2026, bringing together proper pub food, Glasgow-inspired drinks, local art and a downstairs cultural space for music, podcasts and events.
Located in the historic Saltmarket area, Anderson’s is being billed as a reimagined traditional Glasgow pub. Think comforting food, a good pint, cosy interiors and plenty of personality.

Traditional Glasgow pub food with a modern touch
The menu at Anderson’s is all about nostalgic comfort food, but made from scratch with quality ingredients.
Dishes to look out for include:
- Pie, chips and beans
- Mince and tatties
- Ham, egg and chips
- Haggis, neeps and tatties
- Spag bol
- Crispy pancakes with beef massaman filling
- Smokie fishcakes
- Macaroni pie made with Isle of Mull cheese

Heading up the kitchen is Inesa Dirginciute, Merchant Pubs & Bars’ first female Head Chef. She was previously Head Chef at Michelin-starred London restaurant Angler, so expect familiar dishes with a bit of extra polish.
“The menu is rooted in comfort and nostalgia, but every dish is approached with the same care and attention you would expect in a Michelin-starred kitchen,” said Inesa Dirginciute.

Tank-fresh Tennent’s from Wellpark Brewery
One of the big draws for beer fans will be the Tennent’s.
Anderson’s will serve tank-fresh, unpasteurised Tennent’s, delivered weekly from Wellpark Brewery, just over a mile away. The result should be a fresher, fuller pint than the usual keg or canned version.

Alongside Tennent’s, the drinks menu will feature Glasgow-inspired cocktails including a Vimto Bramble, Barr Cola Lang Clyde and a Tunnock’s Tea Cake Old Fashioned.
There will also be an Anderson’s x The Macallan partnership, with Scottish drinks firmly on the menu.
The Institute: music, podcasts and creative events
Below the pub will be The Institute, a dedicated cultural space inspired by Glasgow’s long history of social clubs and gathering places.
The space will host grassroots live music, podcast recording sessions, cultural events and creative collaborations.
So, not just a pub then.
Local artists and Glasgow pub heritage
Art and design will play a big part in the Anderson’s experience.
The venue is working with local artists including Rogue One, Gerard Burns, Stuart Kerr and Ross Muir, with artwork inspired by Glasgow pub culture and city life.
Some of the pieces will also be available to buy directly from the pub.
The interiors have been created by Stuco Design and will include reclaimed architectural salvage, stained glass features and restored original wood detailing uncovered during the refurbishment.
Why is it called Anderson’s?
The name Anderson’s comes from Mrs Anderson, a historic Glasgow tavern proprietor from the late 19th century.
She was remembered as “a most genial host”, known for her generous hospitality. That same welcoming spirit is what the team hope to bring to the new venue.
When does Anderson’s Glasgow open?
Anderson’s opens to the public on 10th July 2026.
