The Wild Olive Tree, Glasgow

Peace and pastries in the city centre

The Wild Olive Tree cafe can be found inside St Georges Tron, Church of Scotland on Buchanan Street.

It is just beside Buchanan Street subway station, and seconds from Queen Street Railway Station. Being right in the middle of Buchanan Street makes it handy for a mid shop break.

Menu

The menu changes daily and has soups, pasta salad, scones and cakes on offer.

Inside is welcoming, relaxing and peaceful. Very much different from most city centre coffee shops.

We both had the date and apricot scone with a pot of tea. These were delivered quickly to our table.

Thick clotted cream and jam alongside our scone. A good sized scone which tasted homemade.

Verdict

If you are looking for somewhere quieter for lunch, or somehere you can actually hear yourself talk, then The Wild Olive Tree is somewhere I would recommend. I’ll make sure to try the soup next time.
