A new late-night restaurant, cocktail bar and live entertainment venue is set to open in Giffnock this December, promising a new dining experience for Glasgow’s southside.

The new venue comes from the team behind The Asian in Newton Mearns, which will continue trading until December 2026 before closing as Richmond Palace begins its next chapter.

New restaurant opening on Fenwick Road in Giffnock

Richmond Palace is being designed as more than a traditional restaurant, with the team describing it as a complete dining and entertainment destination.

An extensive refurbishment is currently taking place at the Fenwick Road premises ahead of the planned December 2026 opening.

The new venue will feature an impressive interior, an elevated food menu, cocktails and entertainment, with the aim of taking guests from dinner through to late-night drinks without having to move elsewhere.

Live entertainment is planned for Friday and Saturday evenings, while Richmond Palace will remain open until midnight at weekends.

What food can you expect at Richmond Palace?

Food will be at the centre of the Richmond Palace experience.

The owners are currently developing an elevated menu which they say will combine high-quality flavours, stylish presentation and an immersive dining element within a premium restaurant setting.

Full details of the Richmond Palace menu have yet to be announced, but the team says the concept will have an almost fine-dining feel while still retaining a relaxed atmosphere suitable for celebrations, cocktails and nights out.

It could make Richmond Palace an interesting new option for anyone searching for restaurants in Giffnock, date night restaurants near Glasgow, or somewhere combining dinner and live entertainment on Glasgow’s southside.

The team behind The Asian in Newton Mearns

Richmond Palace is being launched by the owners of The Asian, the popular Newton Mearns restaurant.

The Asian will remain open until December 2026, when it will close as the team moves its focus to the new Giffnock venue.

Speaking about the plans, the co-owners said:

“The Asian has been such a huge part of our lives and we’ve had so many amazing customers support us over the years, so it will always be incredibly special to us.

“We’ll continue welcoming customers there right up until December, when The Asian will close just as Richmond Palace opens its doors in Giffnock.

“We felt the time was right to create something new and take everything we’ve learned into a completely different concept.”

The team says Richmond Palace has been conceived as an experience rather than simply somewhere to have dinner.

They added:

“Richmond Palace is going to be much more than somewhere you simply come for dinner. We want it to feel like an experience from the moment you walk through the door, with incredible food, beautiful interiors, cocktails, live entertainment and a really special atmosphere.

“The concept will have an almost fine-dining feel while still being somewhere people can come and enjoy themselves, whether that’s for dinner, drinks, a celebration or a full night out.

“We genuinely feel Richmond Palace is going to be the perfect addition to Giffnock and we can’t wait for everyone to see what we’ve been working on.”
