Glasgow Bee Trail Creates a Buzz Across the City
A brand-new family-friendly attraction has launched in Glasgow, the Glasgow Bee Trail.
After months of preparation, organisers are ready to welcome explorers of all ages to discover the colourful self-guided trail, which features 23 handcrafted bee sculptures and two special bonus bees hidden throughout the historic Cathedral Precinct area.

Created by Glasgow artist Emma Murray of Studio Mariscat, each bee has its own unique personality and story. Visitors can follow an illustrated trail map, designed by artist Ed Walker, to hunt down favourites such as Barbara, Billy and Beau while uncovering fascinating snippets of local history along the way.
The trail isn’t just about spotting bees. Participants will also discover stories from Glasgow’s past, including tales of old washing greens, beer-filled tunnels and even historic cholera outbreaks. Along the route, visitors can also keep an eye out for real honey bees collecting pollen in the medicinal garden and pear orchard.
The Glasgow Bee Trail has been designed as a permanent attraction, allowing visitors to explore at their own pace throughout the year. Maps are available from the museum, while QR codes positioned around the area provide easy access to the trail information online.

Whether you’re a history enthusiast, a family looking for a free day out, or simply keen to see how many bees you can spot, the Glasgow Bee Trail promises a fun and educational adventure in one of the city’s most historic neighbourhoods.
