Deliveroo “dark kitchen” gets planning approval

Deliveroo kitchen site for Glasgow

Deliveroo today gained planning permission for what is known as a “dark kitchen” on Scotland Street in what was the showroom for Gibson and Goold for many years.

The new development will be home to either new or established restaurants. These are also known as “dark kitchens”.   Operated under the umbrella of  Deliveroo Editions, these professional workspaces allow established restaurants to serve orders without causing problems to their day to day site, or increase the delivery area by having another hub for creating food.

This new site at Tradeston would mean that any restaurants who want to tap into the Southside Glasgow market can do but without having to open a full new restaurant.
